Exercising on weekends or during holidays has always been a challenging task. But now when people are staying at home in the wake of coronavirus pandemic due to lockdown, they need all the motivation. There is no shame in accepting that work from home has made us all lethargic and even though we know it is not good for our health, we fail to help ourselves. We all need a little motivation to start anything and the same is the case when it comes to staying fit. There are some smart ways to trick your brain into moving your body even when you are staying at home all day long.

02. ​Start multitasking

If you cannot take out some spare time especially to workout in the morning or the evening then try to incorporate it in your task throughout the lockdown days. There is no harm in multitasking a little bit like if you are talking over the phone then walk a little. Do not lie down on your bed while working on the laptop. Try to sit on a chair or even stand for a while. Get up from your seat after every 30 minutes and walk in the room. This way you will be able to move your body a bit more.

03. Due lockdown, Use your spare time

Do not skip the workout in lockdown atleast, even if you were not able to wake up in the morning. This excuse should not keep you away from staying fit. Instead, whenever you get time, perform some exercise. If you do not have time to perform 50 push-ups in one go then divide them into 2 or 3 parts. Whenever you have time, do 10 push-ups. Spread it throughout the day.

04. Give a reward to yourself

Exercising daily will not only make you fit but is also necessary for your own health. Another way to motivate yourself is by giving an instant reward. In most cases, reward comes much after the workout. Rather than doing this, make yourself happy with small rewards. Set a target for the day like 10 push-ups, 10 burpees and 5 jumping jack. When you complete the task, give yourself small rewards like eating a small slice of cake. This way you will stay motivated to workout daily.

05. Play some music

As per science, music has a positive impact on our mind and helps us stay motivated. Use this trick to move more throughout the day. You don’t need to do a typical workout. Just play some peppy music in the evening and dance. The trick is to move more and it really does not matter how you do it.

06. Exercise with members of your family

Group workouts have proven to be beneficial when you cannot motivate yourself to exercise every day. But working out in a group might not be possible during this time so encourage your family members to join you.
